We Win

We have the book that reminds us we win for eternity!

Included in All-Access: $15/month or $150/year. Downloads are in the Library on smr.church.

John 16:33

Not if, but when.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 KJV

Jesus says it’s not IF, but WHEN trouble comes!

At this time Jesus had not overcome the cross, or got the keys to death and hell, or ascended to heaven or anything… but he declares, I have overcome the world.

Jesus says HOLD ON! I believe this was the cry of God for us to find peace in him and TAKE HEART, to HOLD ON to that.

Two overlapping realities

TroubleOvercoming Savior

One view

“Life is hard and stuff happens, and I just have to roll with it, go with the flow, and there’s nothing I can do about it.”

The other

“I say no to trouble, I am a Christian and nothing bad is going to happen to me… it’s smooth sailing from here.”

Both of these are blurred and messed up view points when separated.

When you put the two together you have what Jesus is saying here in John 16: trouble comes, stuff happens, trials come, but God is bigger and has a plan and he is always in control, and in the end WE WIN.

“Being a Christian does not exempt you from trouble.” · TheKickOff.pdf

The question

Where do you turn when the bottom falls out?

The cross.

“The only place you can turn when the bottom falls out is the cross.” Three reasons why:

  1. The cross screams love.

The Cross allows you to understand and to know that God loves you. For God so loved the world he gave his only son! The Cross is the greatest example of love.

  2. God allows freedom, but maintains control.

Some men just punched a clock and came and crucified him, and went back home. THIS LOOKS LIKE COMPLETE CHAOS. But was God never more in control.

  3. God can use the worst for eternal good.

We sing about it, talk about it, preach about it. That’s because God can take the worst and use it for eternal good. When life hurts, the only place to turn to is the cross.

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

1 Corinthians 15:55 KJV · “There is victory even in the grave of the child of GOD!”

John 10:10 · the scoreboard

Steal, kill, and destroy

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 KJV

The scoreboard, from the lesson: the thief can steal, kill and destroy; we answer each one, and the final is we win.

The thief Steal Kill Destroy No score
We Can’t keep Resurrection Rebuild We win
  1. He can steal — but he can’t keep.
  2. He can kill — but there is a resurrection.
  3. He can destroy — but you can rebuild.
  4. In every attack the adversary has — WE WIN!

We win

Ultimately you just have to be on the right team. I have to be reaching for the same goal. Living for the same purpose, with the right people!
