Lesson 1 The Foundation of Dominion

Dominion begins with knowing who we are.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth…”

Genesis 1:26 KJV

“We were not created to live a life of defeat and wander aimlessly about.”

Talk about it “Why am I here?” “What is my purpose in life?”

Two Hebrew words for dominion in the passage:

Rada
to rule over
Masal
to rule, govern, reign, or control

Lesson 2 The Steps to Dominion

Dominion is the final stage of a series of steps.

Eight components of dominion, found in Genesis 1:26-28. “Discipline precedes triumph.” “There is always a cost involved in dominion.”

“Wherever you set foot, that land will be yours.”

Deuteronomy 11:24 NLT
  1. 01“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”Dominion starts with identity.
  2. 02“And God blessed them.”Blessing is empowerment.
  3. 03“And God said.”The Word of God lays out the blueprint for the universe.
  4. 04“Be fruitful.”It is impossible to be connected to the source of life and not produce fruit.
  5. 05“Multiply.”Multiplication equals dominion.
  6. 06“Replenish.”Continual increase is God’s plan for man.
  7. 07“Subdue.”This is the final stage before dominion can be achieved. There will always be giants in our Canaan.
  8. 08“Dominion.”We must be willing to protect the ground the Lord has given us.

Lesson 3 Opposition to Dominion

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!

Isaiah 14:12 KJV

“A jewel is only as valuable as its ability to reflect light.”

Self-centered declarations that serve as a blueprint for iniquity

  1. 1Lucifer wanted to leave the place that was assigned to him without permission.
  2. 2He was already in an exalted position, but that wasn’t good enough for him.
  3. 3He wanted to be more famous than he already was.
  4. 4Satan understands and recognizes authority.

“The only way to be in authority is to be under it.”

Lesson 4 Dimensions of Dominion

The business of dominion is fundamentally about effective stewardship.

  1. Over self“Self-discipline leads to Dominion.”1 Thessalonians 5:23
  2. Over the world“Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”John 16:33
  3. Over the spirit realm“The church is not on the defense but rather is on the offense.”Matthew 16:18-19

“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit

than he that taketh a city.”

Proverbs 16:32
